Official Opening Party
THURSDAY 25 May 2023 
LOCATION: Barlow Park - 251-269 Severin St (corner of Scott St and Severin St), Parramatta Park QLD 4870
OPENING PARY: The Great Barrier Reef Masters Games opening party will kick off at the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony from 7.00pm - 10.00pm. The party zone will provide athletes the opportunity to meet and enjoy their first night in Cairns prior to the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games competitions starting.
There will be live entertainment and games with great prizes to be won from our sponsors. Tony George and his 5-piece band will rock the night away. Drinks will be available from The Jack on- location bar (cash & credit card) and food can be purchased from Nick's Souvlaki and Providore Amore food vans in the party area.
ENTRY: GBRMG lanyard ID is required for entry to the Opening Party, guests will not be admitted without valid lanyard ID. If guests would like to attend any GBRMG social events, a supporters pass can be purchased from the registration page prior to the social events and collected during opening hours from the Registration Hub (they are not available at the door)
THE PARTY CONTINUES: At the conclusion of the Opening Party you can make your way to our Social Hub at The Jack, where the party can continue.
DRESS THEME: Sporty wet-tropics 
The highlighted blue area (below) is the location for the opening party, making use of the large grass area, embankment, garden space and custom built bar and facilities, offering a large marquee, staging, digital screen, lighting and dance floor
NOTE - this event is a closed party to only those carry official lanyard as registered athletes, supporters, non-playing officials, VIPs or volunteers.
An after party then continues at The Jack with a live band to finish off your first night in paradise. Please bring your Games accreditation and photo ID.
