Conquer the Tropics
The Great Barrier Reef Masters Games were first held in Cairns in 2013, and have since been held every second year.
The 2023 Games were another huge success with almost 2,500 participants and we now look forward to the 7th instalment from 29 May-1 June 2025
Cairns is the ideal location to host the Games, being one of Australia's most popular holiday destinations with a myriad of local attractions, dining, adventure sports, reef activities and entertainment within close proximity to the city centre.
Participants from across Australia and Oceania come to compete at the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games in their own age group with no qualifying standards in their chosen sports. We currently have 19 sports signed-up and more still to come – so there will be something for everyone
Games Registration Fee in addition to sport fee:
Please note, that the Games registration fee will only be charged once to each athlete, no matter how many different sports you choose to compete in. Each individual sport attracts its own sports fee.
- Early Bird #1 - $69 per person (ends 31 Aug 2024) in addition to sports fee.
- Early Bird #2 - $71 per person (end 31 Dec 2024) in addition to sports fee.
- Nominal Registration - $89 per person (end 29 May 2025) in addition to sports fee.
It is free for spectators to watch all the sports on offer.
Included in the registration fee is the highly anticipated social program held over three fantastic nights with themed parties every night.
There will be great Early Bird incentive prizes on offer for participants (athletes and supporters) who register and pay prior to midnight on the dates above.
